Extra Credit : Presidential Essay
INTRODUCTION and Thesis: This president was/was not successful as a leader in a crisis. As a result, this president was/was not remembered as a great president.
Childhood/family -- what shaped his life? Parents? Wealth? Health?
Preparation for presidency: Early career in profession and politics
CHALLENGES: Describe the Significant problems at domestic issue or foreign issues. Describe how he handled this crisis. How did he handle this? What did he do right?
What did he do Wrong? What was the outcome….What was his responsibility in the outcome?
4. Compare this president to Barack Obama. What is Obama’s crisis and how has he handled this? (research on pro/con; on the issues; etc.
5. Compare your conclusion about how he handled a this crisis with the findings of CSPAN’survey of Presidents Legacy; How did the historians rate your president (choose 3 issues)
Use quotes; speeches; references in the film/pbs.
